Shabticollections.com

Thanks very much to Ingeborg Waanders who had forwarded me details of a new and interesting project set up and run by his friend Niek. The project, called Shabticollections.com, has been set up partly to provide an on-line database of privately owned shabtis. Musem-pieces are usually well catalogued and published, but the ones in private collections tend to stay below the radar. In an effort to do something about it, Niek has set up a database where people can anonymously post and publish their shabtis, making the data available to scholars and the public who may find the data of considerable use.
There is also a commercial aspect to this site, which visitors should assess for themselves.
